Eight Great Things To Do In Downtown Perry

Shop & Dine in Historic Downtown Perry
Shopping and dining in downtown Perry is a refreshing and unique experience.  Stroll the quiet tree lined streets to the music of the carillon.  Find that perfect frock or gift, then relax as you dine al fresco on a traditional Southern veranda.  La Vita Dolce !

Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale
Georgia's longest yard sale winds its way through downtown Perry each March.  Following old US Hwy 341 from the peaches of Middle Georgia to Georgia's Coastal beaches, this yard sale is a popular event with not only native's but visitors also.  For details check the Peaches to the Beaches website.

Perry Dogwood Festival
April's dogwood blooms manifests their beauty along the streets of  Perry.  What better time to celebrate the arrival of spring with a festival of arts, crafts, food and fun.  Check the Perry Dogwood Festival's website and Facebook page; then mark your calendar.

Perry Music Festival
The of Downtown Perry come alive with music in October.  The annual Perry Music Festival's stages are scattered throughout Downtown offers genres from gospel to rock. Bring a blanket or chair and thou to enjoy a day where good sounds abound.  All the detail are found on the website or the PMF Facebook page.

Christmas at the Crossroads
The magic of the Christmas Holiday starts in Downtown Perry with a traditional Christmas parade which included the jolly ol' elf himself festooned in his famous red suit.  The month long December celebration is full of music, feasting and activities for young and old alike. Big Indian Creek - Centennial Park
Long ago Native Americans lived along the banks of the meandering Big Indian Creek.  Today, this lovely little creek provides a quiet retreat.  Stroll along the walkway which offers solitude and a glimpse of nature's beauty.

Historical Walking / Driving Tour
On foot or on wheels explore Perry's past.  When was it built?  Who lived there?  Pick up the Historical Walking & Driving Tour brochure with map and an audio player at the Perry Welcome Center or the Perry Historical Museum and you will be on your way to a stroll through Perry's history. Our Museums - Muse & Peruse
Visit our two museum.  The first honors one of Perry's favorite son's Senator Sam Nunn  and is located in the Houston Board of Education Building which dates from the 1920's and was attended by the Senator.  Exhibits include memorabilia from the Senators years of service in the US Senate and a turn of the century classroom.  The second museum in that of the Perry Area Historical Society.  From antique toys to Civil War rifles, one learns of Perry's history.  Of special interest is the Museum's Resource Room which contains volumes of family histories and old scrapbooks.  It is a genealogical gem. The Perry Historical Museum in located at 901 Northside Dr. and is open from 10 am to Noon and 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Tues., Wed., & Thurs. and on Saturday, 10 am to Noon.
